Bane of the Fallen King

The Lich King him very self was defeated in a rather heroic fashion by ten of our finest raiders on the 29th of June, 2010.

The fight was long, gruelling and filled with blood, sweat and tears, but the men and women of the Black Dolphin overcame it.

A big thank you to all who attended, and those notable few who put in a lot of work in the fight but were sadly missing in the kill. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Now... if only we could squeeze 25 of us in next time...

I guess we'll need to wait and see.

Heroic: Professor Putricide

That's right folks! Professor Putricide, the rag and bone man from way down deep under all that green goo, met his heroic maker tonight in a battle that will not soon be forgot.

For RR Inc it's time to get in the groove and throw some shapes on the dancefloor, 'cause the Lich King is next and I hear he likes to raise the roof.

Heroic: Sindragosa

Is it cold in here? Or is that just the refreshing waves of change washing on the shores, at the feet of the Redrum pirates, as they lumber their latest kill onto the damp and worn planks of The Black Dolphin.

Sindragosa met her maker tonight, in a gruelling fight which we are all proud to say we conquered.

Putricide's on the chopping block next; and rumour has it that his time is almost up too.

Shadowmourne

On Wednesday the 21st of April, 2010, a weapon was forged for one of the bravest of the pirates of the Black Dolphin. That pirate was Sparrhawk, and tonight he has forged the legendary weapon Shadowmourne.

A huge congratulations goes out to Sparrhawk from all still sailing on the good ship Dolphin, a warrior who has put in a lot of time and dedication into the guild who are very honored to have him (and his weapon, let's not forget that).

So, big up to the Night Elf, and long may the shards roll in for the next recipients!

Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquishers

On Friday the 2nd of April RR Inc strode back into the walls of Icecrown and stole a good 7 frostwyrms out of the icy grasp of The Lich King. Sadly, they were drenched in dried and curdled blood. Ah well, nothing a good run through the Frostwyrm-O-Mat wont clean off.

Sindragosa is on the cards next for the pirates, as they prepare to extinguish what light still exists within her cold and twisted heart.

Heroic: Remember Thee!

It is with pride and glory and Light and stuff that I tell you that the pirates of the good ship Dolphin has bested yet another of The Lich King's most fearsome officers; Lady Deathwhisper!

After encountering her for only 2 nights, she and her acolytes of the Lich King were bested and put to shame. There were no fatalities, save for Darnavan, a brave warrior of the Light whose will crept slowly away from him. He shall be missed.

Anyways!

Time to pick up that smile and put on that Frost Resistance gear, because Sindragosa's days are marked!

Heroic: Crimson Falls

Chalk another one up for the Defenders of all things Lighty, as RR Inc defeat one of the most fearsome lieutenants of the Lich King.

On the night of the 16th of March, the pirates aboard the good ship Black Dolphin disembarked upon the Crimson Hall only to find Blood Queen Lana'thel under the harrowing empowerment of the Lich King; a strength contained unmatched to any they had previously encountered.

A gruesome battle followed, but in the end, it was the pirates - not the vampires - who prevailed.

The Fall of The Lich King

"I am Tirion Fordring, and I see a whole army of my countrymen, here in defiance of the tyranny of the Lich King! You come to fight as free men. And free men you are!

What will you do without freedom? Will you fight?

Fight and you may die. Run and you will live... atleast for a while. And as you die in a PuG, many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here, to the Icecrown Citadel, and fight as young men, and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they will never take our freedom!"

On the night of March the 7th, 2010, the world wearied pirates of the Black Dolphin made their final approach to the Frozen Throne of the Icecrown Citadel, to do battle with Arthas Menethil; The Lich King.

The fight was gruelling and tough, and took every ounce of strength they had, but with a little help from The Light, The Lich King did fall.

Congratulations to all in their conquer over the leader of the Scourge.

For the first time in a long time, we may sleep easy tonight.

The Grand Crusade

Anub'arak got his ass handed to him once more as we vanquished the rather timid beast with all 50 attempts remaining.

An amazing performance from all, except that one guy, yeah, he really screwed up. What the hell was he thinking? Scrubs man, what you gonna do?

It's been a pleasure raiding with you all so far, except for you in the back. Yeah, you. Jesus man, put that thing away, it's nothing to be proud of, everybody's just laughi- oh God stop swinging it around.

Pest Control

On Tuesday the 22nd of December, the dedicated raiders of RR Inc donned their thick cotton, yellow one-pieces, their Doc Martin boots and their backpack of toxic gases as they prepared to unleash havoc on an unwanted infestation known to some as Anub'arak.

Called in by Tirion Fordring to despatch of this overgrown insect, the pirates of the Black Dolphin lay waste to him in his own domain.

The air was rife with Methyl Bromide, Chloropicrin and Formadehyde, but behind them lay the bruised and beaten body of the irksome bug.

A stunning display of skill and synchronisation, a stellar performance from all.

And now, replacing their one-pieces with parkas and their Doc Martins for tennis rackets, the pirates wrap up warmly as they continue their voyage into the Icecrown Citadel; will the Black Dolphin falter as she sails through a sea of ice? Or will the pirates initiate decimation on the glaciers of evil ahead of them?

The Celestial Defenders

'Twas the night before reset, and all through the guild
not a person was farming, their minds unfulfilled;
The Algalon wipe vids were rewatched with care,
in the hopes that the realm first would soon be all theirs;
The guildies were nestled all snug in their beds,
with thoughts of dead bosses running fast through their heads;
When soon came the Thursday; our pally tanks did attend,
we all congregated in Storm Peaks, Northrend.

We donned all our gear and brought all our buffs,
to treat Algalon in a way that was rough.
We punched him, and kicked him, and cherished with glee,
when we defeated this foe, and preserved destiny
for those who were there, and those there in spirit,
those who cheered us on, and wished us to kill it;
not for the Alliance, but all of mankind;
to preserve our future for the rest of time.

That's right folks! Algalon has now been vanquished to the heavens to pick on a planet his own size by RR Inc! A huge congratulations to all those who earned their titles, a fantastic kill within the first 3 pulls of the big chief himself. It's been an absolute pleasure raiding with you all so far, next up: Alone in the Darkness!

Heroic: Glory of the Ulduar Raider

On the 12th of October, after only a handful of pulls, Yogg-saron was bested with only the aid of Thorim, thus netting RR Inc their very first (and server first) batch of Ironbound Proto-drakes.

A huge congratulations goes out to all those who got their drakes, a well deserved reward for the hardwork and dedication which all of our raiders have provided to place us firmly in the number one spot on the realm.

Answering the Call

Beset by the challenges posed by Highlord Tirion Fordring, accompanied by the heckles of Thrall, Garrosh and his legion of the Horde, RR Inc have been plowing effortlessly through everything thrown in their path within the Trial of the Grand Crusader.

The taunts of the Horde were all in vein, for, as quickly as they were spoken, came the pitiful defeat of Thrall and Garrosh Hellscream's best warriors, or, as they like to call themselves, the Champions of the Horde. Watched over by King Varian Wyrnn and Lady Jaina Proudmore, our efforts were seen to be incredibly heroic, and we were rewarded justly with many items of value.

From the icy depths of Icecrown came our next challengers; Eydis Darkbane and Fjola Lightbane, also known as The Twin Val'kyr. Though these mistresses of the Lich were more than intimidating opponents, it is with great courage and valor that they were defeated under our ruthless attack, being nothing more than mere obstacles in our way as we battle on to defeat the Lich King himself.

Algalon Observed

The management aboard the Black Dolphin is now proud to announce that we have, it seems, saved the world from complete and total annihilation at the hands of the Titans!

Phew!

Thanks to the core team for their continued work and struggles against ~~the silver surfer~~ Algalon the Observer, we can now say that we are server first ~~Algalon destroyers~~ world savers and can now look forward to saving the world time, and time again in the upcoming weeks.

Congratulations to all our new Starcallers, a thoroughly deserved title!

We Kept The Legendaries

Alyshea, the restoration shaman, became the first member of RR Inc, and indeed, the first person on the realm, to receive the legendary Val'anyr, Hammer of the Ancient Kings. On the 9th of August, Alyshea was able to prise this weapon from the seeping maws of Yogg'saron, and with his new weapon in hand, we will have him spamheal us through whatever heroic we please.

With this achievement, we find ourselves facing a new tier of content, that being the Argent Coliseum. All of the officers at RR Inc would like to take this moment to thank all of our dedicated raiders, without which we would never have gotten this far.

With Memories leaving the server, and E Pluribus Unum painfully disbanding, it is up to us now to show the server that PvE progress is not dead. We must regain our position as #1 on Ravenholdt, and give everybody on the Alliance something to be proud of.

Since Ulduar began, and now, there are many new and skilled faces within our ranks. To these people, we welcome, and we wish luck in the future. Stick with us and, hopefully, in time, you'll go far.

But forget all that mushy stuff.

Glory of the Ulduar Raider

On Tuesday the 14th of July, 2009, RR Inc descended into the maw of the beast once more, but this time aided only by the assistance of Thorim and proceded to annihilate the old God.

After his destruction, the pirates found that they had received a rather unique prize in their mailbox, in the shape of a Rusted Proto-drake whelpling.

Congratulations all! Alliance first!

The Whisperer's End

Where The Light Dare Not Tread

After a long and perilous journey into the depths of Ulduar, RR Inc, joined now by fellow new recruits from Legacy Uprising, have come away with 6 more heads in their duffel bags.

Well, 2 heads. 4 of those heads belonged to Hodir, Freya, Mimiron and Thorim, and sadly, they were all rather too attached to their heads. In the end, we let them keep them, but only for their aid with Yogg-Saron.

And so to the kills, accompanied by ~~stupid~~ clever puns.

Ignis burned out.

Hodir froze up.

Thorim was defeated, shockingly.

Freya received a trimming.

Mimiron was recalibrated.

General Vezax became a drain.

Next up is Yogg-Saron, he who dwells where even light dare not tread.

The Voyage into Ulduar

On the 16th of April 2009, RR Inc first set foot in Ulduar. What follows is a recount of the days following. On that first day we waited with baited breath until the raid invites came, as the majority of us idled complacently in the skies of Storm Peaks, aboard our numerous, multicolored, assorted proto-drakes.

The air was tense as the groups were comprised, and the chosen few were asked to come while the rest were thanked profusely for their attendance, and asked to be on standby incase replacements needed to be made. Into the Expedition Camp was where we first stepped, meeting Brann Bronzebeard in the main foyer. The mighty explorer sought to launch an initial attack and break open the main gate, while destroying all adjacent surrounding towers and structures.

Well, let's face it, who were we to question him? He was a dwarf for the love all that's Holy (Light)

So, no questions asked, 25 of our best gladiators boarded a vast amount of siege vehicles, ranging from motorcycles to siege destroyers and demolishers (not unlike those found within Wintergrasp). With valor we steamed down the expedition valley, heading straight for the main gate, which we proceded to destroy as soon as we were in range.

From the gate sprang an exceptionally large robotic creature, not dissimilar to a tank. While half of the raid were having a smoke break, and the other half were learning latin on their other monitor, we defeated the Flame Leviathan.

Before long, we had grown tired of basking in the glory of our Flame Leviathan kill and /dance'ing with each others' companion pets, and were informed that the next boss we would be encountering would be Razorscale.

Razorscale was in the Colossal Forge area, and it did not take us long to work out that Razorscale must be suffering from a deadly case of Gingivitus, as, standing in her breath would surely end in your own demise. Thankfully, her breath was large, fuzzy, and shone a fluorescent blue colour when it hit the ground, so mostly everyone managed to get out of them (mostly).

With Razorscale defeated, we reviewed our battle plans and combat maps, as the lootwhores in the guild started asking why [Reins of Razorscale] hadn't dropped, and the hunters of the guild tried to tame the corpse.

XT-002 Deconstructor would be our next foe. As I'm sure you are aware, mechanical constructions of any sort are our enemies and must be defeated. We are pirates. We do not need robots (usually) to tell us where to go, how to play, when to jump and when or when not to stand in the fire.

At the start, we tried doing XT-002 Deconstructor in a strategy which, as of yet, I have not known to be used. Instead of DPSing the heart on the initial drop, we would all type /flirt to the nearest female character. Female characters were also strongly encouraged to do this, although, in hindsight, it seems only those tipsy from a mug of [Brewfast Brew] carried out this request.

In the end, this tactic was slightly flawed, and we decided instead to put the XT-002 Deconstructor out of his misery by ripping him into shards of scrap metal.

After killing XT-002, we took a small break. We all had wenches to feed and cats to make sexual advances upon, so a small recess was taken.

Kologarn would be our next opponent. In our journey to reach the Holy Grail that is Yogg-Saron, we found it pertinant to cross the bridge to the Shattered Walkway. In our path we crossed Kologarn, a brave ~~knight~~ giant who was willing to risk all of his limbs to make sure we would not pass.

After slicing off said limbs, Kologarn was but a shadow of his former self, and we promptly knocked him out. I bet Kologarn never saw the irony of his own body being the bridge that adventurers such as us would cross! But there you go. That's karma for you.

The battle plans were once more drawn up as the miners among us tried to chip away blue gems from Kologarn's groinal area (who were quickly told to stop lest they incur instability to the bridge)!

While our dedicated leaders drew up the next battle formation, we explored the halls. In one of the chambers, we came across three chaps. One big yin, one small yin, and one yin which was neither big nor small. We were bored so we thought, meh, let's kill these guys while we're waiting. So we did. The Iron Council were too busy pitching ideas from their constituents to mount any kind of defense against us, and quickly perished.

As we all sat back and merrily had a drink of tea and a shot of heroin, a ferocious cry echoed throughout the chamber. Immediately, we all turned to face Setinho, known for crying ferociously about his DPS, but no tear tracks were on his face! Another roar belted over the walls of the Shattered Walkway, and from the corner of our eyes we saw it. A lonely old lady with 4 cute little cat friends.

As we all looked on in pity at the cat lady (with some of us screaming OMGKYOOT!!! at the cats) our adept leaders, Felfarin (codename Gadumba) and Kann (codename Kann) spotted a hefty looking bag dangling from Auraiya, the cat lady's arm. Now, I'm not trying to say that we robbed an old lady or anything. It was completely different. Somebody stumbled into the bag and one thing led to another and, well, we started attacking her.

Her primary defense system (OMGKYOOT!!) sprang into action, but were quickly taunted by our meatshields, who decided to go with the 'Jerry Seinfeld' approach to taunting; backhandedly mocking their mice-catching skills and saying that they could use a claw clipping.

With kitties distracted, we focussed our attention on the brittle bones of Auraiya. She screamed and shouted and tried to chase us away, but she wasn't strong enough. On this day, RR Inc reigned supreme, and killed this old lady. In the bag, we not only found the guild's first [Runed Orb] but a couple of loose [Werther's Originals] which were hastily eaten by the officers on deck (Sparrhawk and Dodje had to share one though).

With the defeat of Auraiya, we parted for the night to our quarters, where we would spend the night battling our own personal demons over the fact that we had, infact, just murdered an old lady in cold blood.

As dawn broke the next day, the squadron of 25 lept from their tents and sucked in some of that beautiful fresh air, fully prepared to slay more old ladies in the evening.

With due diligence they prepared their weapons and oiled their arms, ate their spinach and tied their shoelaces as Felfarfin and Kann announced the next challengers on their hitlist; Ignis, Thorim and Freya.

Ulduar Cometh

Now merely hours away from the implementation of Patch 3.1, it is time to reflect over our time in the first tier of content which Wrath of the Lich King had to offer, as we avidly await the second.

With strength and resolution we battled through the halls of Naxxramas, laying waste to all those who would get in our way (and trying not to fall down any pipes while we did so) and plowed headfirst into Sartharion and those around who sought to protect their dragonkin eggs from our firepower.

Together, as a guild, we have experienced all of these bosses together, and revelled in the happiness as each one slowly fell to the ground, before magically gaining the ability to sparkle and drop several items of a purple nature.

And together, as a guild, is how we will march into Ulduar. We have lost some guildees in the time between then and now, but we have become more hardened and dedicated towards the final goal; the defeat of Yogg-saron and Algalon The Observer.

I heard a rumour, you know. The rumour goes like so:

In his house he waits dreaming,
as his future comes to pass.
From whispering, he turns to screaming,
while he sees us kick his ass.

This shit just got real.
